gcmv Posted August 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2016 Fortunately we both do not need a wheelchair and were very surprised about the fact, that this cabin was allocated to us. I used the search function to find out some more details, but did not really find good results. What I’ve found: Though our cabin 136 is next to the elevator – there should be no noise annoyance, which is very important for us. There remain open questions for me: As we do not have a bathtub, is the shower larger? On the deck plan the cabin looks more narrow than cabin 134 – is this true? The bed is described as a “queen size bed” (no twin option) AND also a “full-size bed” (no twin option) – does anybody know the difference? Any other positive or negative hints (perhaps from passengers who cruised on this cabin)? Happy to receive your comments …
Prada Cowboy Posted August 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2016 (edited) It should have the same cabin layout as the rest, just a different bathroom! I did also the GTY and got a nice cabin mid ship 1 deck up from you! I would try to call Windstar and tell them a Handicap Suite is unacceptable for you, they may change it! I have a very nice guy in Seattle dealing with my booking! When are you cruising? Gruesse! Edited August 8, 2016 by Prada Cowboy
gcmv Posted August 8, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted August 8, 2016 Hi Prada Cowboy, thanks for your quick reply - at the moment I'm not sure, if this cabin is "unacceptable" for us. This is the reason why I started this thread to find it out. We do both not need the bathtub - a nice (large?) shower cabinet fits perfect for us. The cabin is nearly in the center of the yacht, which is much better than the stern or the bow. Our cruise starts at Sept. 12th from Rome. Gruesse aus der Kurpalz! ;)
ridethetide Posted August 8, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2016 It is a large walk-in shower, which is better, I think, than a bath with a shower. That is, unless you actually like to bathe in a bath tub.
cands Posted August 9, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 9, 2016 I spent 8 weeks in cabin 137 on Seabourn Spirit in 2008. No elevator noise whatsoever.
