What to do in Cozumel?

Okay so I've been to Cozumel twice so far, and will be there again in September. I made a reservation with Alamo to rent a car and plan to tour the island in the car. So in wondering what are some must sees?

Also if anyone has experience with Alamo, how was it? I booked a $7 a day car with $18 insurance plan. Came up to $31. Does that sound legit?

Any good free snorkeling spots? I may want to rent or may buy my own snorkel gear before I cruise..

You can snorkel for "free" at The Money bar -- no admission fee, but it is polite to buy drinks/snacks. Good snorkeling from the shore (you enter the water via steps) plus good facilities and rental gear/guides if you need them.

When I cruise I bring my own prescription mask/snorkel and rent everything else to save room in my baggage.

We are looking at renting a car from Alamo and with all the insurance it comes up to over $100. This was for a compact car, no AC and standard transmission. Where are you picking it up?

It's from the carnival cruise pier.
