Greetings Cruisers!

I am looking for information about Lindquist Bay Beach/Smith Bay in St Thomas. I understand it is a beautiful secluded beach. I want to know:

  1. Do they have vendors to rent chairs and umbrellas? If so what is the cost?
  2. How far is the beach from the cruise port (Havensight Pier)?
  3. The cab fare cost?
  4. Do they have food and drinks for purchase?

Thanks for the info!

If you haven't already, you should check to see if an excursion to this beach is available for your cruise. It is called Secret Sands (at least it is for Celebrity's excursion but they seem to usually be the same as Royal Caribbean's.) I haven't done it but I've read great reviews and I'm considering it for my upcoming cruise. Apparently there is a vendor who provides chairs, snacks, and drinks for the people on the excursion and it is all included in the price (the vendor expects tips.)

Yes, I researched that and RCCL is offering the same excursion. Under RCCL it is a 3.5 hour excursion that gives you 2 hours at the beach and a drive up skyline to overlook St Thomas. The excursion start at 12:00 noon. I have considered this but I need more than 2 hours at the beach and would like to get there early to get a shady spot. Since we are leaving from our home port, I was thinking about taking our beach chairs on the cruise with us. Our beach chairs are made to be carried on our backs like backpacks! I think I can russet up some bottle water and snacks to carry;)
