PurpleDog Posted August 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2016 We are thinking about taking the Ecstasy out of Charleston on January. It has stops in Nassau and Freeport. I am going to assume that the pools on board during the trip will be way too cold to swim in, but was wondering if anyone has been to any of the Nassau [or Freeport] day pass beaches. Do any of those day pass resorts have heated pools ? Any advice would be appreciated.
cb at sea Posted August 16, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2016 It's "Florida-like" weather in the Bahamas....it will be MUCH warmer than what you're used to in Va..... If I get too hot, I'll get in the water....otherwise, I don't bother! They don't heat pools in the Bahamas!

OCruisers Posted August 16, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 16, 2016 (edited) Hate being a "fun sponge" ... but water temperatures in the Bahamas in January are quite chilly! Edited August 16, 2016 by OCruisers
BoDidly Posted August 16, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 16, 2016 (edited) Bahama weather averages of 24°C/75°F during the winter, 27°C/80°F in spring and 31°C/88°F in the summer. I know of no heated pools But in Freeport there is a pool we have used and its free to cruisers ,Unexso. Edited August 16, 2016 by BoDidly
ShakyBeef Posted August 16, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 16, 2016 Average Water Temperature in Nassau in January-February: 72°F-75°F. Average Air Temperature in Nassau In January: 70°F. Like the PPs, I know of no heated pools in the Bahamas. I'm sure some must exist, but I've never seen one.

Newbea11 Posted August 16, 2016 #11 Share Posted August 16, 2016 We went end of Jan to Nassau and Freeport and swam in the ocean both places and on the boat. First day was rain and 60 but after that it was great.
PurpleDog Posted August 18, 2016 Author #12 Share Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) Thanks for all the input ! I've been in some fresh water springs in Florida that are a constant 72 degrees all year round, and to me, that is super cold ! The lake that we swim in here in Virginia measured 84 degrees the other day when we were out on the pontoon, and that is a perfect water temperature to swim in for us. I guess we will have to play it by ear ... or in this case, toe =) Are any of the Atlantis pools heated ? Edited August 18, 2016 by PurpleDog my terrible spelling =)
