Secaucus to Port of Manhattan NY transportation help

This is our first time taking a cruise out of NY. We are flying into New Jersey (EWR) and staying in Secaucus the night before the cruise. Need some help from experienced cruisers. What is the best transportation from airport to hotel and then hotel to port? We haven't tried Uber yet but friends are telling us to try them out. Is that the best way to go? Also, with Uber is it a flat rate or can they charge you more if they run into traffic? Extra for tolls? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks :)

Can't help with Uber. Secaucus Taxi is the car service to look at for Secaucus.

 

Where are you staying in Secaucus? Is it a hotel on points? I'm asking because you will be paying for a trip from the airport to the hotel and the hotel to Manhattan. If you stay at the airport, you have the car service option plus a train option and an airport bus option, all of which would be less expensive.

We are staying on points at a hotel 6 miles from port.

If we were to stay by the airport what is the best option to take from the airport to the port? 4 people plus luggage.

Car Service like Dial7 or Carmellimo with 4 people.

You have to specify the number of people and the amount of luggage so you get an appropriate sized car. I'm thinking you will need a bigger vehicle. With tolls and tip I'd say at least $100+.
