We are traveling on the Pacific Dawn with 3 children just have a few questions

Are we allowed to take water bottles on board empty or full, just thinking of needing these when we are on the islands

Is there a fridge in the ocean view rooms

Is the gatsby night the formal night, and do the men were suits

When in Noumea as we dont arrive until 3pm, which would be the better tour with the kids, the train or a bus tour around town

Many Thanks:)

You can only take EMPTY water bottles.

If the children are young they will probably like the novelty of travelling on the 'train'. If it was just adults I definitely suggest going on the bus tour. It is cheaper, air-conditioned and away from traffic fumes. Either way, buy your tickets in the terminal - it is much cheaper than taking the ship's tour. The train is really a tractor-like machine that has been made to look like an steam train engine. It pulls carriages and travels through the streets with the cars - not on a train track. I suggest you choose seats somewhere near the middle of the line of carriages. The ones at the front get the exhaust fumes from the engine and the ones at the back get quite a sway and may cause travel sickness.

Not necessary, a lot of shirt and braces, a lot of hats too. Great dress up night. They sell the braces and hats cheap (yes believe it or not) on the ship. Also boas, pearl strings etc. We bought ours with us.
