crusing48/51 Posted August 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2016 Was so excited to see the Carnival number on the answering machine. She said she had an exciting opportunity for us on our upcoming Magic cruise in October. Well, it wasn't so exciting when I heard the offer. We are in our first ever Ocean Suite, and she offered us a Grand Suite for a mere $598.00 more!:eek::eek: I told her thank you very much, but we just can't afford that. I did counter offer for $200, but she informed me they can't take offers, only make them. She said it would make her job much more interesting if she could accept offers. Oh well, we will just have to enjoy our little ol' Ocean Suite. Maybe next time! Hey, I'm just glad to be trying the suite!:D
ScottsSweetie Posted August 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2016 I would definitely have had to turn that offer down, also.
Jesziegler Posted August 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2016 The other day we received a call for an upsell and I also turned it down. We are sailing on the Valor September 4th and currently and in Scenic Oceanview room. She offered a ocean suite for $400 more. I would've taken it but looking forward to one of the front cabins. John Reid Posted August 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2016 I received an upsell call once. It was to go to an Ocean Suite from the balcony cabin we booked. The price they quoted was the same price it went for when we booked our balcony. Not quite a deal.
Hribal Posted August 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 23, 2016 I booked a trip for November online. A Carnival agent called me saying she was my specialist. Could that have been an upsell call?

Could that have been an upsell call? I don't think that would have been an upsell call. That was most likely your PVP(personal vacation planner). They will assist you with all your cruising needs, if you so desire. If you like, they can book your cruise, handle any issues that arise, take care of any price drops, etc........... I personally would rather take care of those things myself, but many people like to have their PVP do it for them. As I understand it, if you have a good one they are worth their weight in gold.;)
trihawks1 Posted August 23, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 23, 2016 Lol my family and friends who have cruised with me (or done a Disney vacation or any vacation) call me their PVP or TA. Always wanted to be a TA. Hoping my DD and her fiancé get an upswell call for their honeymoon cruise in November. Micahs Grandad Posted August 23, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 23, 2016 Would have turned it down also. If we had been in an inside would take it for that but not from another suite
Rare mizLORInj Posted August 23, 2016 #11 Share Posted August 23, 2016 Definitely no bargain. It's just a bit larger than your current Ocean Suite.

Our last cruise we had an OV. Got a call offering to move to a GS for $600. I turned it down as the $600 was the difference between the two rates. Nothing special there. He has saved me money a few times with the price drops. Took care of everything. Calls occasionally but absolutely no pressure. We are on first name basis s well.
