FL Keys excursion

We will be on the Infinity which stops at the Keys. We want to do a tour, but all that seems to be offered is a 1 1/2 walking tour. Is that worth booking, or would we see more on a trolley hop on/off type tour, which is not offered by Celebrity. I would have to book that online, I guess. We are not looking for any water-type activities, or even too much walking since we are elderly! Thanks for any help and/or suggestions.

The 'Noddy train' as we call them in England (don't know the US term) is fine. We saw lots of sights without much walking and a few without even getting off the train! Add to that a drink and a slice of key lime pie....

All cruises dock in Key West.....I don't recall if any have ever tendered.

As has been suggested, there are several hop-on-hop-off trolleys which are a great way to see the town. You can buy tickets online ahead of time to save a little time (and money!)

We like the trolley as the driver gives some history about the town and tells you about what you are seeing. Well worth the cost!

There are two different docking locations in Key West. If there is an especially busy day (with several ships) it is possible that one would tender (we actually saw this last year). Tendering is rare...but it can happen.

We should have given a little more info. The best docking location (and the most popular) is very close to Mallory Square...and within an easy stroll of the most popular tourist area. This pier has space for two cruise ships. The other docking location is around the corner of the island near the Truman Annex...from where most folks would take a short shuttle bus to the old town area (near Mallory Square). If you would happen to be on one of the rare ships that must tender, the tenders drop folks off near Mallory Square.

When we make it to Key West we are thinking of renting the electric cars, think golf cart. That way you can stop and go when you want. Here's a few sites:

Hi

We did this on our last visit , they are great fun easy to drive

and you can tour the city at your own pace.

This is a good way to see Key West. I think it was $99 for the day but we

Had done all we wanted in about 4 hours.

We live in Miami and go to KW often. The trolley is s great idea. Most things are concentrated on Duval St near the Pier. Have lunch or a drink at Hogs Breath Saloon

Rent a golf cart in port and do your own thing. That way you can get away from the maddening crowd and see all of the island or only part of it.

The trolleys with some narration would be good for that end of Key West. But it would be nice if you could get down further on Duvall to the "quiet end". The southern most spot in the U.S. The Butterfly Museum there is excellent too. You can actually walk the whole length if you are interested. Lots of shops and restaurants on the way. There are also bike driven carts around which will make the loop for you if not willing to make the walk.

We rent electric cars from HydroThunder in Key West.

You can also catch the Conch Train tour very close to the Mallory Square dock. You can buy tickets there. I wouldn't buy tickets in advance for Key West because you can get rained out.

I've been to Key West 5 times and the trolley is very easy to book just as a walk up. They offer hop on off and a tour as well. Only a block from where the ship docks.
