We did not know this. We are looking at H6 on Breakaway and Escape for the large balcony. Would you please share how we may tell which stateroom has large balcony? Thank you.

OK, first thing to decide on is which configuration that you prefer.

With Configuration A, the master bed is near the balcony and there is a 2nd access door to the balcony in the master bedroom.

With Configuration B, the master bathroom is near the balcony and has a view of the ocean and balcony but no 2nd access door to the balcony.

Configuration A doesn't have natural light in the master bathroom.

Configuration B doesn't have natural light in the master bedroom.

On Breakaway and Getaway, Configuration A is on decks 11 and 14.

On Breakaway and Getaway, Configuration B is on decks 9, 10, 12, and 13.

On Escape, Configuration A is on decks 9, 10, 12, 13, and 15

On Escape, Configuration B is on decks 11 and 14. (opposite of BA/GA)

All H6 living rooms are the same no matter which ship (BA/GA/Escape) other than mirror image between port and starboard.

The balconies are all roughly the same width but differ in depth.

On BA/GA, the size order is 9, 12, 11, 10, 14, 13 from deepest to least deep.

On Escape, the size order is 9, 12, 15, 11, 14, 10, 13 from deepest to least deep.

Some are very close to the point that a ruler would be needed to tell the difference. For example, 11 and 14 on Escape might switch order if measured.

Some are very different. For example, 9 or 12 vs. 13 on either ship is a very big difference.

I'm doing this by memory and not on my computer at home so I might have to correct this later. :)

I just read a review af someone who had a aft suite who said that their butler was hardly around. When she would call him he said he was helping someone else. She seemed to think since the aft suites were so far from the haven he didn't want to make the long walk. Can you tell me your experience with the butler?

I was in a haven spa suite on Breakaway in May and they are located on 14th deck. Not that close to most Haven suites and the cheapest of Haven suites. I would have been happy with the mini suite cabin that I had on a prior cruise but because I was traveling with my mom at time and she was ill, I thought to buck it up and find a way to afford the extra cost. Haven bookings offered the priority embark/disembark and the butler. I didnt think my mother would be able to handle anything except priority booking. LOL now one thing about haven spa suites...I was mislead by agent....beds CANNOT be separated.....but we dealt....she is my mom and it is a king bed. While we didnt get to enjoy many of the haven perks because mom had difficulties...the butler and room steward were amazing and took great care of her. So I dont think it's where you are located so much as your butler/room steward etc. I don't regret one bit the extra money I spent on suite. My mom passed on 2 weeks ago.....this trip was something she loved and talked about in her last weeks. I am going to try to save up some extra cash to try to do solo next May.

Is this the same for forward facing balconies too?

No, the H7 forward facing balconies are mostly the same. The only issues with the H7s are that the balconies directly under the bridge are "enclosed" (obstructed by the hull) and that all 3 ships have wheelchair accessible H7 staterooms that are configured as 1 large room instead of a separate living-room and bedroom.

On BA/GA, the obstructed view H7s are on deck 13.

On Escape, the obstructed view H7s are on deck 14.

On BA/GA, the HC stateroom is 13106 (enclosed balcony)

On Escape, the HC stateroom is 13106 (standard balcony)

On all 3 ships, the "forward facing" part is a window in the bedroom. The balcony is on the side of the ship.

I had heard the forward suites were nice, except there all don't have a balcony you can sit on. They do have large windows overlooking the bow of the ship, though. Plus, the bedroom is seperate from the rest of the cabin for regular Haven suites.

We are in a haven suite on the Breakaway this Sunday. First time in the haven and cannot wait! I am hoping once we do this we won't ever go back to a standard balcony. Lol. We did get an upsell on our first cruise ever on the Dawn years ago to the romance suite. I had no idea what all the perks were and never used them. This time I'm ready! I would try it once OP and see how you like it.

All H7s have a balcony. Just the ones under the bridge are mostly enclosed.

Here is a video of a typical H7 on Breakaway...

...vs a HC H7 on Getaway...

...and 1 last video showing the enclosed balcony (deck 14 on Escape....jump to 1:54 in the video)

I prefer the H6 even though it involves more "work" to find the stateroom that suits you plus the walk to the Haven is longer. The balcony is worth it, IMO.

Incorrect. All forward facing H7s have a balcony (on the side).

There are forward facing staterooms that are oceanview (OA) but those aren't Haven suites and those (OA) don't have a balcony.

It looks like the balcony on H7 are the same size as what I have now with the midship balcony

LuckyinPa we had Gian on our trip Aug 21st BUT I can only assume they rotate around since we were in a 2BR - but He WAS /is a wonderful Butler! Do you have all your plans set for your trip? I bet you are getting excited now! We ( my husband) and I are going back in a month to Bermuda - on the Dawn this time.

It has been a journey for me since I originally booked the cruise prior to my mom being certain she could go. I had booked a mid ship mini suite that I had booked before and was happy with. For me I had to hesitate at first because of the huge increase in cost... knowing my mom was ill and had limitations but with the hope she would recover as the drs "seemed" to suggest .....I booked the haven spa because of haven perks to make it as easy and enjoyable as possible for her as I knew she would still be enduring chemo treatments etc. I don't regret my choice. We had some minor hiccups ...but today I feel it was my best decision......We didn't spend too much time in haven, only the restaurant 3 times...not a huge walk, not inconvenient. I picked the room solely on what I knew she would enjoy most....casino and atrium shows. Feeling still a bit emotional.....what really made this trip was the care and concern from the butler Gian and stewart Geng......They both treated her like a queen. I had reached out to this forum and hopefully both have gotten word of my gratitude. I have less assurance that NCL has received and passed on my gratitude toward them. I am strongly considering saving the pennies in between the couch and trying to book a spring trip to Bermuda in the same cabin. So yes I would recommend the haven spa suite.

I have 1 more question ( I hope it's just 1 more lol). The Aft Suite, can you hear the evening noise from the H2O? My husband and I are light sleepers and I dont want to spend a crazy amount of money and not be able to sleep. Oh I guess this will be a second question, lol. The spa suite, how is the noise level in those rooms?

We were on deck 12 and if you were out on the balcony you could hear the bass sometimes, but once we closed the door we never heard anything. I have seen reports of noise in the suites on the 14th floor.

The spa suites on 14 have other cabins above/below them so they should be quiet.

so it truly is luck of the draw which in theory is better anyway. if you had a bad one and you had a fav room you wouldnt want the same experience each trip. i'm pretty darn excited and we just sat down and figured out some general bermuda plans. i splurged for the haven room so we cannot be all decadent in bermuda as was my plan before :D

but between museum/zoo/jungle, all day trans passes, forts, beaches, we can get away reasonably cheap without cheaping out.

hope you have fun on the dawn. my next dream trip of a lifetime i'd love the GV with me and a few close friends. but thats far down the road. i see also that even if you had the same week as me, that they stagger the arrivals so i wouldnt see you anyway.

i'm sure they received their gratitude in other ethereal ways. i'm glad to hear the walk wasnt bad for you. i worry about every last detail even to have investigated what is across from the spa haven rooms (crew doors etc etc). i should write a book i guess. i hope you get your pennies saved and you probably already know to watch out for spring breakers. i worry i'll enjoy this too much and want to go again but thats not a bad thing to be tortured by.

We just got off the Breakaway, forward facing Haven penthouse, and I completely agree that once you go Haven, you'll never go back.

For me, the priority embarkation and disembarkation is worth the price all by itself. Watching the HUGE line of people we were bypassing at both ends of the trip, I could not believe how many people were waiting in those lines!

I was not at all impressed with our butler. I doubt he was assigned to only the forward facing suites. I think he was busy up on the Haven courtyard. He didn't even get my simple requests right: keep the room stocked with coffee pods and Splenda.

We had breakfast and lunch in the Haven restaurant a couple times late in the week but wasn't impressed. They were the worst meals we had on the ship. I definitely wouldn't pay extra for that perk. The concierge escorted us to reserved seats a couple of times for shows and that was. I've except that they want you to meet them 45 minute before show time high I thought was excessive. One time our concierge found us as we were finishing dinner right before the Cirque de Soleil show and personally escorted us to a sweet front row table. That was pretty cool.

Finally, the beds! I don't know if Haven cabins have different beds, but our bed was amazing. It is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in besides my own. My wife and I really did not want to leave the bed.

You won't regret spending the extra money!

Wow I was on the BA in a forward suite H7 8/28.

Our butler was amazing I mean the best! He brought the snacks we asked for everyday and was always checking in on us. Anoop was awesome as well.

We loved the food in the Haven. We only had breakfast there on the last day.

The suite was perfect. Small balcony but we used it almost everyday to have coffee on.

The H7 was really nice. The balcony is small off the living room but perfect for two the have two wicker chairs and a table.

In the bedroom you have a big window overlooking the bow.

Large bathroom with a nice size tub.

Really nice cabin.

The H7's on 9 and 12 are a little larger. I was on 10.

NOT ALL OF THEM. Some of the spa suites are below the fitness center.
