hotel & parking miami florida info please

Does anyone know of a hotel in Miami near the port, that allows parking while on a cruise. Thanks for any help.

Nothing in downtown Miami, but Summerfield Suites by the airport used to allow that, check with them to confirm that they still do... http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/MIASS/main.wnt

I checked with Summerfield Suites, but they said they are 35 minutes from the port.

Well it's not quite that far, they're on the south side of the airport. It's about 20 minutes to the port unless you try going during morning rush hour on a weekday... That's as close as you're going to find though, the downtown Miami hotels charge more for parking than they do at the port! Quite frankly though, your car is much much safer in the parking garages at the port - $12 per day.

 

If you're concerned about the cost of the cab ride you can take their airport shuttle back to the terminal and take a taxi from there to the port. Taxis between MIA and the Port of Miami are fixed at $21 per cab.

Park at the pier. Very safe, cheap, and covered parking.

 

Parking in Miami will probably cost you more than $12 per day.
