SuzanneH Posted September 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2016 Looking at the Freedom Jan 7, '17 sailing, balcony cabin rates. What is the difference in rules between the Fun Select rate and the Fall into Savings rate? I can't see much difference in the fine print other than the book by restriction on the Fall rate. What am I missing? I actually work for an airline and can decipher those fare rules with the best of them but this has me stumped  . Maybe I'm looking for a difference that isn't there? Thanks!! :) :D :p
ray98 Posted September 11, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2016 (edited) Fun Select comes with a two category upgrade(at a higher price). No later upgrades due to changing prices. Everything else looks pretty similar as they are both under the same change and cancellation structure. FUN SELECT Cruise rates are in US dollars, per person and based on double occupancy. Offer is capacity controlled. Category restrictions and exclusions apply. Carnival reserves the right to withdraw and/or change offer at any time without prior notice. Cruise Fare does not include Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses. Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses range from $$40.44 to $222.82, and are assessed on a per guest basis and according to the itinerary. Guest may select the stateroom, but a minimum purchase of category 4A is required. Upgrades are automatically assigned at the time of booking and are based on availability in like to like categories only (interior to interior, ocean view to ocean view and balcony to balcony). Subsequent upgrades in lieu of price protection will no longer be offered. Carnival reserves the right to assess a change fee according to the date of the request, the length of the cruise, and the actual cruise sail date. Cancellation penalties apply. Request rate code PNS. Ships' Registry: The Bahamas, Panama & Malta. Fall Into Savings Cruise rates are in US dollars, per person and based on double occupancy. Offer is capacity controlled and is not combinable with any other discount or promotional offer. Rates may vary by ship, stateroom type and sail date. Changes made to the reservation may result in the assessment of cancellation penalties or service fees. Category restrictions and exclusions apply. Carnival reserves the right to withdraw and/or change offer at any time without prior notice. Offer is for the cruise fare only and does not include Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses. Taxes, Fees and Port Expenses range from $56.90 to $359.73, and are assessed on a per guest basis for all guests according to the itinerary. Offer is applicable in cabin assignment categories only. Cancellation penalties apply. Offer bookings made as part of a group will include amenities. Offer is applicable on select sailings through September 2018. Offer does not apply to Carnival Australia. Offer is applicable on new bookings made between September 6, 2016 and October 31, 2016 EDT. Please request rate code PB4. Ships' Registry: The Bahamas, Panama & Malta. They are the least expensive rates Carnival offers and will save you money over the two rate codes you mentioned.
SuzanneH Posted September 11, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted September 11, 2016 Thank you Ray98. i appreciate it!! Bev- this question was actually for Someone else that had asked me to check out the rules for them. Thank you, though, because I'm amazed at how many co-workers don't know interline rates exist, so I appreciate you bringing it up!!!
riffatsea Posted September 11, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2016 The only difference I see is that the Fall into Savings rate is only for new bookings. That won't matter to you but it may matter to folks who are already booked and who want to use it for a price drop rebate.
