how are the seas in western carribean now

Since there is a hurricane (Beta) in the Western Caribbean that hit Honduras just yesterday, I would guess that it's pretty darned rough today. Which reinforces the point that what the seas are like today have absolutely no bearing on what they'll be like next week.

Sea conditions can change rapidly in just a short period of time. I remember stepping into the shower one morning after enjoying some nice weather on the balcony, then getting tossed about suddenly and having to find the handhold in a hurry before I got tossed back out. Sudden squalls had hit the ship and what was a nice day just 30 minutes previously was now a cool, windy day with large waves. We were less than an hour from reaching port at Costa Maya and had our port call there cancelled within the next 15 minutes. A few hours after that, the weather was perfect again.
