How well does the App work? Do you need buy internet package to use it?

Short answer - it works reasonably well, depending on your expectations.

 

It's free to download, do it ahead of time & install before sailing. Register & activate once within range of ship's free WiFi inTRAnet, to use the free features at no charge. The paid functions are calling & texting, current charges including one-time fee per sailing are displayed once you logged in. Activation fees per device on BA was $9.95.

 

No, you do not need to buy any WiFi inTERnet package offered to use it - those are extra functionalities enabled.

I downloaded the app but did not activate it- didn't really need to. BUT, if you have the app and don't activate it you can still look at the daily schedule and other general ship info which was nice.

for anyone that does have internet /calling, i do believe you can share the pot of gold as long as you log off and let someone else log in but you cannot be logged in at the same time i believe is the limitation
