Devils Bay

We are visiting St John and have hired a private tour for day. We going to power boat to the baths. I will be with 8 adults in their twenties. I want them to see the baths before we go to Jost for the afternoon. Would just going to Devils Bay be enough of an experience to see the baths or should we do the hike down. It just seems like a time killer of where you dock, the open cab ride, the hike down, the cab ride back to the marina. Thoughts??

Devils Bay is basically part of the Baths... The large rock formations are right there. However, depending on the time you get there, you may have a hard time going through the path towards Baths beach because the "traffic" is usually coming the other way. (From the Baths towards Devils Bay)

Hi neighbor (Elmira here)! :p

No you do not need to do the trail down and back up. If coming in by boat you'd normally moor off the beach by Poorman's beach shack, and go through the boulders and ens up at Devils bay on the other side and get picked up there. You can walk through either way, but as Sid correctly noted others will be going in the other direction because that's the normal flow.

Be sure to look at the cruise ship schedule to see if the day you chose is a good one or you need to change it.

Enjoy! :)
