sparlkes Posted September 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2016 We haven't cruised since the old days when you stood at the photo gallery searchimg through all the pictures. We will be on the Explorer next week. How do we find our pictures with the viewers?
Clarea Posted September 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2016 Not sure if Explorer has the new system, but on Oasis, they have facial recognition software. They swipe your SeaPass card when they take the Welcome Aboard photo.
hannibal54 Posted September 19, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2016 For better or worse, you stand in front of the photo's looking for yourself. Make note of the time that you board the ship, when looking for your boarding picture they will have a time range. This helps the search. For dinning, they will have early & late dinning. For the rest, it is a lot of searching. It would be nice if they all had like Bob said, maybe some day. Good luck.
chazg Posted September 19, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 19, 2016 On Oasis Class Ships, they have 2 ways to look at you pic's. One is the Computer Kiosks where you swipe your Sea Pass Card and they show up on the screen. They also have these round units that have numbered binders what have the actual photo's in them. The number is on your Sea Pass Card. The system works for the most part but we have often found other peoples pictures in our binder.
Rare BillOh Posted September 19, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 19, 2016 Make a mental note what you wore on embarkation and the various port days.
TBone2K Posted September 19, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2016 (edited) Keeping in mind the OP asked about Explorer... On Explorer it is all computer terminals. However they may not have the facial recognition software like Oasis, as the photographers always asked us for our seapass card when they took our picture. You just go up to one of the machines and swipe your card and your pictures come up. Although we found the terminals were very slow at times or didn't work at all. The challenge to this system is if you had a group picture, you have to remember whose card was swiped for the picture you want to find. loubetti Posted September 19, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2016 Aside from facial recognition, do they have photo printing kiosks, where you swipe your card, select the photos you want, and the kiosk will print out either 5x7 or 8x10 depending upon your choice? Half Pint Posted September 19, 2016 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2016 We haven't cruised since the old days when you stood at the photo gallery searchimg through all the pictures. We will be on the Explorer next week. How do we find our pictures with the viewers? Just off the Explorer and they have machines in the photo gallery where you swipe your seapass card and all your photos come up.
tserface Posted September 19, 2016 #9 Share Posted September 19, 2016 Dang, that takes away the old gag where you stand in front of the kiosks and say, "How do we tell which ones are our's?" Tom Just off the Explorer and they have machines in the photo gallery where you swipe your seapass card and all your photos come up.
TBone2K Posted September 20, 2016 #10 Share Posted September 20, 2016 Aside from facial recognition, do they have photo printing kiosks, where you swipe your card, select the photos you want, and the kiosk will print out either 5x7 or 8x10 depending upon your choice? Yes. Although I don't know if it is the same as Oasis. The machine that did the print was being run by a staff member. You also have the option to download the picture files to your phone or USB (cost is the same as printing) If you have the ability to do it, I would highly recommend that since it gives you the flexibility to print whatever size you like as well as edit later. Pratique Posted September 20, 2016 #11 Share Posted September 20, 2016 Not sure if Explorer has the new system, but on Oasis, they have facial recognition software. They swipe your SeaPass card when they take the Welcome Aboard photo. We didn't have a Welcome Aboard photo taken, and they still managed to figure it out somehow. On Oasis Class Ships, they have 2 ways to look at you pic's. One is the Computer Kiosks where you swipe your Sea Pass Card and they show up on the screen. They also have these round units that have numbered binders what have the actual photo's in them. The number is on your Sea Pass Card. There are not enough binders for everyone to have their own.
