World Series Playoffs

Anyone know what the chances are that the ship will be able to broadcast the world series playoffs in October?

Doubtful. The only sports channel shows soccer pretty much 24/7. Other channels are limited programming.

 

Last year, we watched the Super Bowl but that came in over an international feed. I've never seen baseball on a ship TV.

Was on RCCL Halloween last year and watched the World Series on the room tv and the NFL on the big screen over the pool. (NE/NYJ, Sun, BAL/ARI, MON and NE/MIA on Thu night)

We watched the World Series on the Escape Transatlantic last year. It's never guaranteed, but certainly possible.

You should be able, we have watched baseball, hockey and football while on cruises....

 

We will be on the Dawn the week the World Series starts, there will be mutiny on the ship if the Red Sox make it to the series and it isn't shown!!

It's random what and when they show major sports events but I would say your chances are Good to Very Good.

Thanks for the feedback. I live in Atlanta, so we obviously aren't involved in post-season play, but always enjoy the playoffs and the series!

In 2011 we saw the world series on the large screen in the atrium on the Gem.

if it is a two month old soccer match you want to see, you are in luck. Saturday on the Getaway (when dozens of college football games are aired) every tv in O'Sheehan's was tuned to a rerun of a soccer match followed by soccer news followed by another replay... you get the idea

We were able to watch all the games (Go Royals) BUT.... only in our rooms or the casino bar. Really hoped for the big screen.:(

In 2014 we were on Getaway and the WS was on every night at the Sunset Bar.

On the Sun we got to watch baseball.

 

Last year I cruised on the Jewel on opening day. What was I thinking? I had the unlimited internet and watched on my IPAD with MLBTV.

Update: Cruised on NCL Sky this week, Mon thru Fri. No baseball coverage at all. Did not try to find MNF but watched TNF in the Sports Bar. Didn't learn of the Boston Red Sox' fate until we docked in Key West on Thursday.

 

IOW, lousy tv on board. I don't watch much tv at all, but a baseball or football game on in the background can catch my attention.

This is a resounding yes. The games will be broadcast on all NCL ships as they have bought the rights to broadcast them. It will be on Channel 30 on some ships. Not sure if that's fleetwide or not. Hope that helps. Go to a sports bar on the ship (or O'Sheehans if newer)! :)

This year FoxSports owns October baseball, it used to be Turner Broadcasting, so anything that has happened on the past is pretty much irrelevant. Go Cubs!

Several years ago, on a Caribbean run, we watched three games of the World Series in the Sports Bar on the Sun. I just remember the Cardinals were playing. :rolleyes:
