deedee1234deedee12345 Posted September 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2016 Hello, I'm looking to book the 14 night SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN FROM BALTIMORE, MD on the CARNIVAL PRIDE from Jan 7-21 for my boyfriend and I. Are there any deals where we can get a drink package included in the cost of the cruise and not have to buy it separately? Does Carnival usually offer "free" drink packages if you buy i certain level of room (i.e. balcony vs. interior)? Thanks!

SadieN Posted September 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2016 It's even rare to get OBC.
Rare sid_9169 Posted September 20, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2016 Never seen a free Cheers promotion, ever... Total for 2 Cheers packages for 14 day cruise equals $1,533.
frenchcanrican Posted September 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 20, 2016 Only NCL and X have these deals. They are not offered all the time. We happen to book two trips that included gratuities, specialty dining, and drink package. That is why I answered your question. Look around for the Free Perks or Go Big deals. SadieN Posted September 20, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 20, 2016 These Journeys cruises are very popular. Carnival doesn't need to offer any incentive beyond the itinerary to entice people to book.
ray98 Posted September 20, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 20, 2016 No. NCL is the main one offering the 'free' deal. I have found it is usually attached to a higher fare when comparing like categories and you are responsible for the service fee. Sometimes it beats Carnival when looking at the total price, sometime is doesn't. Shop. Compare. Calculate the true cost of each.
JG-TX Posted September 20, 2016 #8 Share Posted September 20, 2016 Only NCL and X have these deals. Forums Princess and Holland also offer these deals but not as often as NCL and X. Princess is called Sip & Sail and Holland is Explore4 Also, if you book Yacht Club on MSC, you get free alcohol in the Yacht Club area (including the pool). poppadevan Posted September 20, 2016 #9 Share Posted September 20, 2016 If you plan to spend time in the Casino you can earn a Drinks On Us card by playing the slots. I usually earn a card on the second or third night of a cruise. You need to accumulate 1500 points. So you could be drinking free in the Casino for most of your 14 day cruise. I did the San Juan to Baltimore Journey cruise last year, you will have a wonderful time. Enjoy
jamesr3939 Posted September 20, 2016 #10 Share Posted September 20, 2016 (edited) Princess Sip & Sail just ended two weeks ago, but was good on sailing until Spring 2018. I put down $200 deposit on a 15 day RT San Francisco to Hawaii, just in case we decided to maybe do it, in April 2018. Sip & Sail on that cruise is worth about $1800. I can't say I ever saw a free drink package on a Carnival cruise. Edited September 20, 2016 by jamesr3939

I never look at Holland, MSC, or Princess. Good to know for future cruises. One of these days I might be able to afford going on those lines. A girl can dream! mickide Posted September 20, 2016 #12 Share Posted September 20, 2016 I did a price comparison with NCL for my upcoming Mexican Riviera cruise on the Miracle. The same time period, same amount of days, NCL with a "free" drink package...it was almost exactly the same amount as Carnival PLUS the Cheers package. Nothing is ever free, with other lines it's just built into the cost of the cruise. At least, that is what I found when comparing cruises :).
