Are you allowed to bring hair straighteners onboard?

 

On the RCI FAQ it just talks about no clothes irons or hot plates ??????

Yes they are allowed see attached under NOTE.

Cruise lines know that women wouldn't cruise if they couldn't fix their hair! The "no iron" thing is simply a "bottom line" thing for the cruise line.....has nothing to do with "safety"...as other lines have irons for passenger use!!!

I've used both my flat (US) and round (Europe) pin adapters with my GHD's and never had an issue with either.

flat iron is 110/220 so I take an adapter and it is great, it free's up the 110 plugs.

Perhaps it was a judgement error on Royal's part but my sister had her flat iron (hair straightener) taken from her on our Majesty cruise lats August.
