XenxoWarrior Posted September 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2016 Hi all, This is our first cruise. We are taking Carnival Breeze and reaching Belize on Nov 9th. We are cruising with our kids 10 and 6 yrs old. My husband has a dislocated shoulder and he needs quiet beach options. Given that and the fact that we are not liking any of the day cruise packages offered by Carnival for Belize, can we do Caye Caulker on our own? How far is it from tender port? How do we reach there? Travel time to and from including waiting for water taxi? What's the ticket costs for the water taxi, and once you are there in Caye Caulker, can you rent scuba equipment and go snorkeling in shallow water near beach. If these are not an option, I will appreciate other recommendations too. My daughter and son have limited mobility and we want to keep activity levels easy to moderate. Thanks in advance. Rare crewsweeper Posted September 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2016 (edited) Caye Caulker is a definite DYI option. You can even rent a golf cart once there. Water taxi station is a less than 5 minute walk outside the cruise port once you tender in. Here the link to the water taxi site with $ and schedule. http://www.belizewatertaxi.com/ Here's the "official" Caye Caulker site http://www.gocayecaulker.com/ Remember times are Belize times (Central Standard). The Breeze will be on Eastern Standard, 1 hour ahead. It won't change at ports of call. So be aware of when the ship's Fun Times says the last tender leaves and make your return early enough to get back.. Wear a digital or analog watch, don't depend on your phone or smart watch/ fitbit. If you print out the taxi schedule and pencil in 1 hour later for each time, that'll be a good assist for you.
