Rossbow Posted October 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 2, 2016 I will be in Port Canaveral for one night before my cruise. I want to eat at a seafood restaurant that serves fresh local fish. Any suggestions? Thank you
Corby114 Posted October 2, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 2, 2016 Most of the fish restaurants in Port Canaveral serve the same items. My favorite is Fishlips. Excellent seafood, nice staff and a nice setting.

Magellan321 Posted October 2, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 2, 2016 (edited) If you are looking for something unique and yummy that the other port places do not serve.....check out the Lion Fish at Grills in the port. Capt_BJ Posted October 2, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 2, 2016 (edited) If you are looking for something unique and yummy that the other port places do not serve.....check out the Lion Fish at Grills in the port. agree and btw it is probably the ONLY way you'll see something "fresh" VERY little product is landed in Canaveral anymore. Where there were fish houses there are now cruise docks or restaurants. If you didn't catch it and clean it .... 95% probability it was 'previously frozen'. {btw as one who oversaw fishing boat inspections ....I prefer 'previously frozen'} Lion Fish is an invasive species being pushed in a few places as a food product. It has a very good taste but is almost impossible to catch 'commercially' as they don't school or take a hook. Most are caught by spear or 'gig' by divers. To ENCOURAGE sport divers catching and reducing the population some places will buy the fish. GRILLS is one. dd with a lionfish she snagged during her dive and about to become lunch Grills cooks up the whole fish (gutted) with a nice oriental glaze. The fish flesh is very mild in flavor. You can order as a dinner ... or as an app' (fish only) yummy and I DO recommend Edited October 2, 2016 by Capt_BJ
