YummyStickyBuns Posted October 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2016 Hi Everyone! Can someone let me know what the options are for getting between Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port Hotel and the Princess cruise terminal? I cannot find any recent threads on this topic. I did see something that a person asked the front desk and got a ride from the hotel for $5. Is this true? Is it walkable? I know its a short distance and walking isn't an issue, I'm wondering if its allowed and safe from being run over by traffic.

If it isn't, then it's not.
capriccio Posted October 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2016 Take a look at the map in the Port Everglades website (http://www.porteverglades.com) or at https://res-1.cloudinary.com/simpleview/image/upload/v1/clients/porteverglades/Port_Facilties_Map_UPDATED_August_5_2016_967fef41-99cb-400e-a99b-a0bbb8b935be.pdf. The Renaissance is on the north side of 17th Street at the intersection with Eisenhower Blvd. As noted above, if Princess has only one ship in port it is docked at terminal 2. On busy weekend days in the high season there can be 2 or 3 Princess ships. Sometimes they use terminal 4 and/or terminal 21. Terminals 2 and 4 are walkable from the Renaissance if you don't mind the heat; terminal 21 is not. A week before your departure, your cruise will appear on the Ship Schedule available on the Port website or directly at https://pevvesseltraffic.broward.org/webx/. The "To" column denotes the terminal the ship will use.
royalcruz Posted October 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 9, 2016 You can get a taxi ride (954-777-7777) for about $10 for the carload, or an Uber (app) for less than that. There's no need to drag your luggage across the busy 17th St.

YummyStickyBuns Posted October 11, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted October 11, 2016 Thank you everyone. I'll be on the Royal on a Saturday if it matters. I'll watch https://pevvesseltraffic.broward.org/webx/ and if its not to hot and the street doesn't look too intimidating, I'll make the walk. Otherwise a short taxi ride may be in my future. The Royal Princess usually gets priority at terminal 2 unless the Regal Princess happens to be in port at the same time which may happen a couple of times a season. In those cases, usually but not always, the Regal gets terminal 2 (maybe because it is the newest ship in the fleet?).
