rocks Posted November 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 2, 2005 Hi! First time on a ship that has a Disco AND a Crows Nest. Wondering what type of music is played in both. DH & I LOVE dancing and have been known to dance until the DJ announces 'last call' in the Crows Nest. Where will we find good rock & roll dancing music? Are both open past midnight? Thanks in advance! rocks

sghetrick Posted November 3, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 3, 2005 Northern Lights definitely doesn't play Rock Music. It was mostly rap except for the night they did songs from every era....It still was a good time in there though!!
rocks Posted November 3, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted November 3, 2005 How about the Crows Nest? Is there a live band or DJ? How late do they have music up there? rocks
FlorenceItaly Posted November 3, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 3, 2005 Maybe we can convince them to play some ROCK! :). Marie
blueboro Posted November 3, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 3, 2005 We were on the Zuiderdam 10-1-05. The Crows Nest featured a 4-5 piece band with guitars, keyboard and drums. They played light instrumental music mostly...not rock or pop. Did not get to the Northern Lights.

jaguarstyper Posted November 3, 2005 #9 Share Posted November 3, 2005 The DJ in the Northern Lights on Zuiderdam seems to play what the crowd dances to and enjoys. He figures it out pretty quicky. I dont recall hearing any Rap at all, ever. Some dance music, yes. But, never rap. Tim

Randyk47 Posted November 4, 2005 #13 Share Posted November 4, 2005 Does anybody know that once HAL puts a ship through SOE and remodels the Crow's Nest that all they do is DJ's? Years ago on the Ryndam they always had a small combo, usually ship musicians, and then more recently in March 2004 on the Oosterdam a contract combo. My wife and I always enjoy before dinner drinks and a little dancing in the Crow's Nest and usually go up there for a nightcap after dinner and a little casino time.
