Guarantee Veranda Cabin

How are you notified of your assigned Cabin when booking a guarantee ? Also, how far out from the cruise are you typically notified? Thank you.

We booked a guarantee balcony, I have been checking the luggage tags obsessively because i read here that they get updated first. Our cabin # appeared there first and several hours later I got an email saying our booking had been updated. When I checked the cabin number appeared on the booking as well. We are sailing on Oct 23rd and we were assigned our cabin yesterday.

If you booked through a TA, the TA will be notified and then the TA will call you.

 

If you booked through HAL -- HAL will e-mail you.

 

Some people have been notified of their cabin about 2 weeks away from sailing. A few people got their cabin number a couple of days from sailing. And then a couple of people said they got their cabin number at the dock.

Yes, booked with a TA, gave HAL all necessary informations at their website and got the assigned cabin number from HAL and from my TA. (10 days before cruise)

I have seen more of a trend for cabin assignments within the final week to 10 days by ALL cruise lines. They are getting ever more sophisticated with revenue management and want to keep the maximum number of rooms open for purchase, or upsells, that they can. Each cruise is different as to when revenue management will pull the trigger and assign cabins. It can also vary on a particular cruise based on the type of cabin and how close to actual 100% occupancy the ship is.
