My wedding anniversary of 5 years is next year in September.

Norwegian Escape vs Carnival Vista, which ship would you go on, and why?

If i go with Escape i can get a suite, if I do Vista it will be balcony

I been on Carnival and RC many times. But never Norwegian .

Thanks all in advance for replies

Not expert but funny coincidence. We are booked on the Escape for our 5th Anniversary next October. We looked at the Vista but between the two and with two free offers, the Escape was a better deal. We took the UDP and that alone would have cost us an arm and leg.

We would like to sail the Vista but we would like the Havana Cabins and there wasn't one available for our sailing.

I haven't personally, sailed NCL for quite some time, but the lovely, and talented Mrs. Jones will be sailing the "Epic" TransAtlantic at the end of this month.

My main objection to NCL is the lack of fixed dining time, but other than that, I used to LOVE NCL. Having said all that, I think in your case, I'd sail the "Escape", and enjoy that suite!

In any case, I don't think you'd go wrong with either. Let us all know what you did, and how it turned out. CONGRATS on your anniversary.

We've never done Norwegian either, but I can say that we strongly considered it for our upcoming cruise because the price and perks. In fact, the only reason we chose to stick with carnival was the timing. I'd go give Norwegian a shot for sure!

If you get a suite with NCL and can also get some of the free offers - drink or specialty dining - then go with the Escape as the better value.

I've sailed the NCL Breakaway and it is a great ship, and I'm hoping I'll say the same about the Vista next month.

Either way, it'll be a memorable anniversary.

We're considering the Escape for a large family cruise next year too.

A co-worker (who is a frequent cruiser), tried NCL for the first time this year and sailed on the Escape . Her family enjoyed their cruise, but she found she missed the assigned dining and interaction with the wait-staff and the formal nights. One of her favorite things about cruising is getting dressed up for dinner and having family portraits done. Other than that she said she wouldn't hesitate to sail NCL again.
