floridalover5623 Posted October 20, 2016 #26 Share Posted October 20, 2016 A "French" balcony is an extremely narrow balcony or no balcony at all with a door that opens and railing to prevent falling. It's too narrow to step out on. They're pretty common on river boats. Yep. I saw that on Google. Pretty much like Princess's balconies.

drpack Posted November 8, 2016 #28 Share Posted November 8, 2016 She's wrong. We just got off Regal and were on Caribe (C303 - accessible balcony cabin). Tiniest accessible balcony cabin we've ever seen. No couch - only a small chair. We did see some of the deluxe balcony cabins on our deck and those had small couches (the size of a loveseat) near the balcony. Those looked nice. I booked a month before the cruise and was able to get one of the deluxe balconies for less than a $100 more. This way one of us doesn't have to set on the bed. With just the 2 of us, a love-seat is large enough...
Cruisintimer Posted August 18, 2018 #29 Share Posted August 18, 2018 You would need a deluxe balcony to get the small sofa. Was wondering how you liked that cabin? Was it a quiet room? We have booked it for next year. Thank you in advance for your reply.
Wishing on a star Posted August 18, 2018 #30 Share Posted August 18, 2018 Yes, a look at the Deck Plans will tell all ! A Balcony Deluxe, often referred to as Deluxe Balcony, is bigger INSIDE, with the little love-seat. The balcony is standard. Princess does sometimes use the term Premium Balcony for cabins that do have a larger extended balcony. I don't know how soon you are sailing and what availability might be. But you can look closely at the deck plans and look for availability for one of the few cabins on the Regal that does have a larger extended or angled balcony. Such as those on the mid-ship bump-out. They are not a separate category and are not priced higher. The ones on Deck 8 (Emerald) are prices as Obstructed, when they are not always really obstructed.
