If your Freeport stop was cancelled, what did you do instead?

I'm booking on the 4 day Carnival Elation cruise in a month and a half. I was wondering if you were supposed to go to Freeport, but your itinerary changed due to the hurricane damage in Freeport, where did you end up?

Trying to get a good idea of where we'll be going most likely if we don't go to Freeport. Thanks!

IMHO avoid Freeport and get refund of port charges you were paying to go thee. Win for me.

If possible, another port will be substituted. If not, its a day at sea. No way to know until much closer.

I was on the October 3 sailing of Elation.and we all know what was out there that week lol. Initially my cruise was Half moon Cay and Nassau. the night before the cruise it got switched to Key West and Freeport. then Freeport got cancelled and replaced with a second day in Key West. so thats a possibilty,depending on the path of the hurricane

I leave on Ecstacy on Sunday the 30th, no news yet on Freeport. I loved the Grand Lucyan there, but know that it was damaged and not opening until mid november. The market across the street was damaged- lost roof

We just make the most out of the sea day.

Our day in Freeport was turned into a sea day after an overnight in Nassau. The Elation and the Pride were in Nassau with us. The Elation arrived late in the morning and left late at night (around 10:30ish). Not sure where she was headed at that hour. This was last week on the Valor.

I am booked on the Elation for Jan 19. In conversation with my PVP yesterday, he told me that Freeport is now accepting ships again. Based on that, they will not be going anywhere else in place of Freeport. I was hoping that we would be going elsewhere. Not much in Freeport except beaches and shopping. Last time that I was there, I stayed on the ship.

If it was my family, we'd first say a little prayer of thanks for the change ;) and then enjoy the sea day or port, wherever we wound up!
