bhowell1972 Posted October 27, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2016 For an excursion in Progreso is there a difference in these 2 companies? I saw someone say that shorexcursioneer was a by product of AP so you really get the same thing. So I could use AP in Progreso and SE in Cozumel? Any suggestions? WisRiver Posted October 27, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2016 Shore Excursioneer is a booking agent for local tour companies. Auto Progreso is a Mexican company that only serves the Progreso/Merida markets. When you deal with AutoProgeso you deal with the company that will provide the service. Purvis1231 Posted October 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 29, 2016 We have dealt with both companies and found both offer good services. I have read of some people getting better deals from Autoprogreso at the port.
maldenmusic Posted October 30, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2016 Can't speak for SE but we have taken 7 or 8 excursions with AP and have never had a bad experience.
bhowell1972 Posted November 10, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted November 10, 2016 Did you book prior with them or when you got to port?
sublarry Posted November 19, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 19, 2016 We always book with AP when you get there. If you book a tour with the ship you will be on a AP bus with the people that book cheaper at the port. Sent from my iPad using Forums
sublarry Posted November 19, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 19, 2016 I think we used SE for a place in Nassau once. They were fine and the place we went made me actually want to go back to Nassau. Sent from my iPad using Forums
NayaSantaFe Posted December 27, 2016 #8 Share Posted December 27, 2016 Did you book prior with them or when you got to port? I would suggest you wait until you get there. Maybe you can even find a taxi with the same tour for half the price, this is what I would recommend. We made reservations with AP and they ended up changing the meeting time last minute sending me an email while I was already at sea and unable to see it. Anyway, we ended up using the taxis instead and it was a lot better, half the price, more time and less people.
