luv2trvlnow Posted October 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 28, 2016 Carnival sails out of the pier in Old San Juan. Marriott Stellaris is in Condado which is closer than the Embassy Suites on Tartak which is in Isla Verde. The Embassy Suites is closer to the airport. slidergirl Posted October 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 28, 2016 Are you looking to use one of those because they have casinos? Both are not near the Old San Juan port for Carnival. I'd book at the Sheraton Old San Juan so I could just walk across the street to the terminal. I could take a taxi to/from either of the hotel casinos for a few hours' playtime. For me, it would be easier to do that than to have to hassle with grabbing a cab with the hundreds of others at the hotel looking to get to the ports and dealing with the resulting traffic jam. slidergirl Posted November 1, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 1, 2016 (edited) Just wondering, is there a bar or restaurant at the top of the Sheraton Old San Juan where we can stop in for a drink with a view? the top of the hotel is the rooftop pool. The Palio restaurant, with it's terrace, is on the second floor. If you want to see the view, go to the hotel's website. Be sure to specify you want a terrace table, or you will be put inside. Or, ask for Room 832 (I had this one) and just look outside from the opened windows. It was a huge corner room and had 2 Juliette balconies and another window. Looked right at the piers!
