Future Cruise Offers

I remember on our first cruise there were offers of booking a future cruise at a discount. I wanted to get some feedback on those deals. Are they really that good of a deal? Is what they offer negotiable or are the offers set in stone? Thanks for any input.

The cruises we've booked while on board are the same prices as listed on the ncl website. In fact we use a computer in the Internet cafe to choose a cruise and then see the cruise consultant to book with a future cruise credit.

We booked a next cruise on our last cruise. We got a thirty percent discount as well as two onboard credits, one we used on the present cruise and one against our future cruise.....so for a hundred dollar deposit on a future cruise we got a hundred on board credit each right away plus a hundred for the new booking, each, plus that is our deposit for the cruise, plus thirty percent off the cruise. So yes it is actually a good deal.

NCL has NextCruise. You pay $500 and they give you a $250 credit ( so you pay only $250, 50% discount) or you pay $1000 and they give you $500 credit. If you choose for example the $500 offer you will see the credit of $250 on your account the next day and you'll have a credit of $500 in your NCL account for use toward a cruise deposit in a 4 years period.

Hope this help.

This. Also, if you buy a single $250 certificate, they give you $100 OBC, so you are paying a net of $150 for the certificate.

A certificate can be used to book a cabin in place of the regular deposit.

In addition to buying the certificates on board, if you actually book a future cruise on board using the certificate, they will give you an extra bonus. When the CruiseNext deal and on board booking was first introduced, they'd give you an "extra pick" (like if a pick 1 promo was happening, you could pick 2.) That has now changed, and what they offer is merely a free upgrade to the next higher category within the same cabin type. (In our case, we turned it down because it would have moved us closer to mid-ship, and we prefer to be near the aft elevators.)

Thy still offer the cruise next after a cruise (45 days) that offers $75.00 OBC on whatever booking you make using it so in case you change your mind afterwards you can still purchase albeit at a lower OBC. The website does not offer the Haven version but I think you can order that one over the phone.

Also, the $500 Haven version does not get you anything outside of the $100 OBC. You will only receive the normal Haven perks but do not get any type of upgrade using it. The biggest perk with that is not having to put down the normal $500 per person deposit.

It's normally one credit per stateroom (no matter how many passengers are booked in the stateroom). But for cruises through December 31, 2017, you can use two per stateroom. See the CruiseNext page for details.

The December 31, 2017 date is for cruises booked to sail to Europe only. The deadline for using two cruise rewards on all cruises is book and sail by March 31, 2017

We paid $250 and got $500 for next cruise. You have four years to book using the credit. Also, your credits are fully transferable - you can find them discounted on ebay.

I'm lost. You gave them $250.00 and they gave you a certificate good toward $500 on another cruise? No obc? Or Did you just elect I have the $250 applied to future cruise!

Sorry if I'm being dense :(

You're not being dense! :p

The way it works is you pay $250 for one certificate and you get $100 OBC on the cruise you're on. The certificate can then be used as your deposit on your next cruise. If you purchase two certificates at $250 each, you get $250 OBC. That's what the previous poster was referring to. So, in essence, you pay $250 and get two $250 certificates for your next two bookings (unless there's a promo where you can use two certificates on one stateroom). On my last cruise, I purchased four certificates for $1,000 and immediately received $500 OBC. I've now applied one certificate to an Alaskan cruise in June and two certificates to a Western Med cruise in Sept--current CruiseNext promo lets you apply two certificates on sailings in Europe if you sail before Dec 31, 2017. :D

Ok, another question....Can you use these credits if you don't book directly with NCL? I use Costco Travel because of the extras I get from them being a member, so I'm not sure if it would be worth buying the certificates if I have to use NCL directly.

I recently started using a TA instead of booking directly with NCL. I currently have 3 certificates applied to those bookings. You do not have to book directly to use them.

My TA can see the certificates on my account with NCL and she just grabs whichever one is going to expire next and applies that to my booking. Easy peasy.

Oh nice! Thank you. That makes it definitely worth looking into then.

Lets say I have a $300 OBC.

Can I do a CruiseNext certificate for $250, use my OBC, and then get

an immediate 100 OBC?

Thanks in advance.

Don't think of it as getting $100 OBC. Think of it as buying a $250 deposit for $150 or buying 2 $250 deposits ($500 value) for $250. And yes socialise box to buy them. So if you have $300 obc you can buy 2 certificates and still have $50 in obc left.

Wow autocorrect! That should say "and yes you can use obc..."
