We are doing a quick 3 day cruise on Thanksgiving that goes to Nassau. Any beaches near by that are worth going to for snorkeling and lounging?

Cable Beach or Paradise Island beaches are very nice, although snorkeling from them isn't that great as you will see an occasional fish and almost no coral.

If you want to snorkel, choose an excursion. If you want to lounge and just swim, try these beaches.

The only beach we visited on Paradise Island was Cabbage Beach. It is located next to the RIU Hotel and Atlantis. There was no sign marking the entrance, our taxi driver dropped us off and told us to walk up and over the hill to access the beach. The beach is beautiful and water was very clean. There are no facilities at this beach but you can rent lounge chairs and umbrellas, there were vendors on the beach selling hair braiding, cold drinks, food, etc. Also, there are water sports available, banana boat ride, jet ski, etc.

It was an inexpensive way to spend a couple of hours on a beautiful beach.
