Shuttle From Car Rentals At Port Everglades

Simple question: If you have rented a car at the FLL airport a few days before your cruise and you want to just drop it off at the several car rental spots near Post Everglades, will they shuttle you to the cruise terminal? Why are some people saying take it all the way back to the airport and then get the port shuttle from there? Doesn't that seem more complicated and time consuming? Specifically, we are taking a Feb 2017 cruise on Regal Princess and thinking of an Enterprise rental. Thoughts?

I've rented with Avis and they have a shuttle from Avis Port Everglades to the Cruises. Not sure how things work at Enterprise though.

When you rent you need to choose a different drop off from where you rented it at FLL...this option is on the online rental site.

 

We usually rent from Budget (using Costco) at FLL then return to the 17th Street location and take their shuttle to Port Everglades....we have also done this with Thrifty returning to their Miami Road location which is just outside the Port Everglades gate (actually the closest rental company to PE)...all rental car company shuttles are free....I would avoid having to go back to FLL.
