Zuiderdam Signature Suite question

Does anyone know why the SS suites on the Zuiderdam are on Deck 6, while the lower-rated SYs are on Deck 8?

Perhaps because the lower rated ones are under the Lido deck? There could be a noise issue.

That's what I was thinking, Denise; certainly have experienced the chair-scraping noise before. On the other hand, the ones under the lido restaurant should be fine, and they're all rated the same.

I am pretty sure this is the reason. Good example - HAL's newer ships moved the Neptunes one deck lower than on the older ships to avoid being below the Lido deck noises.

 

Personally, I like being just below the Lido deck, but under the dining area, not the pool area.

It previously was the opposite. Several years ago they flipped the category of the two deck levels and what was originally better became the lower category.

The lido deck chair noise must've been more of an issue than I suspected.
