Stopping at st Thomas on Cruise this month

Want to do a little shopping and island tour

Read mixed reviews on tour operators and shopping not worth doing on a tour

Do we just grab a tour at the dock?

Book ahead?

Grab cab?

How's the shops at the Port? Or do we need to go downtown?

I think for the amount of time you get on a vehicle, depending on the offering, purchasing a tour can make sense. The key is that there has to be enough sightseeing time built into the pricing that the shopping almost feels free because you are not really doing to be in the vehicle while shopping. If you have a small group or family, here's one shopping and sightseeing tour I found that might make sense for you.
