With the changes to the Casino Royale program along with RCI's agreement with the Feds to issue a 1099G, spending money in the Casino no longer has the appeal it once had. You are much better off going to a Casino in a port than playing on board.

Wondering if anyone can tell me what the minimum table limits are for the Craps table on most RCI cruise ships. I will be on the Rhapsody in January for a 7 day cruise.

That is accurate for single zero roulette, which is not common, certainly not in a zero competition casino. Most games you will see are double zero. 18 red, 18 black, 2 greens.

 

18/38, or approximately 47.37%

Same math for odd / even.

47.37% of the time you win, 52.63% of the time you lose. .4737 – .5263 = -.0526 (or 5.26%) That 5.26% house edge will eat you up over the long haul.

 

 

 

Yeah, there are worse bets in the casino, especially the games where a player has to make a decision and has no clue - blackjack, craps. Red/black or odd/even on a double zero roulette wheel is far from 'close to 50/50'. But you can't make a mistake and make it any worse (unlike blackjack or craps)

so in that regard roulette is harmless fun as long as you don't camp out there all cruise long wondering why your stack is dwindling the longer you keep making those "50/50" bets.

I've heard some interesting theories as to how to "enhance" your odds on board.

 

People that swear by looser slots early in a cruise, and people that swear by looser later in a cruise. Early in the day vs late in the evening, etc.

 

I've always approached casinos as a part of the cost of entertainment, not expecting to win, just to have a great time.

 

So the question arises, what do you do or not do to "enhance" your odds?

Mostly $10 on craps tables I have played. The have read on crowded nights, Craps Table upped to $20 min bet but I have not seen it personally.

Are the odds better in a particular game versus another? I'm assuming the one with less odds may have a bigger pay out though?

 

I would rather win little with better odds, but that's because I'm selfish with my money. I haven't played in a casino in about 3 or 4 years.

 

Odds wise, the best game in the house is Craps. .84% house edge betting the Don't Pass and laying double odds, .86% house edge playing Pass Line and taking double odds.

 

The 2nd best game is Blackjack. 1-3% house edge depending on house rules, and if you know Basic Strategy. Up to 3% player edge if you know how to count cards.

Good info... for new players, Pass or Don't Pass just easiest to play until they learn the rest of the table. And yes, 4 and 10 good bets as long as craps is not rolled....

 

 

 

Actually, Craps (2, 3, and 12) does nothing to a place bet. 7 is what you don't want.

They vary depending on which ship, length of the cruise, day of the week, and time of day.
