I wasn't to happy about them removing the internal memory chip they had in previous models & didn't find out till I had bought it. :mad:

S8 does have a micro-sd slot.

 

The trade in can be carrier locked, or locked.

 

The price of the new phone varies based on (the new phone being) carrier-locked or not.

Both are available on the Samsung web site.

The one that I purchased is not carrier locked.

 

Or, wait until the iPhone 8 comes out, or black Friday...

I just received the samsung usb-c --> hdmi adapter.

It's very simple, no external power required.

The phone can use a 256GB micro sd card.

 

I think this could store / display enough video for a modest cruise.

And, you could always swap sd cards as needed.

Just for viewing on the phone I keep the files around 200-400 meg but for the cabin TV on the new ships I go to 1 to 2 gig.
