Can cans be brought onboard in a cooler?

So why start now? You can order 6 packs of soda or mixers to be delivered to your cabin.

I thought about that but $10 for 6 is crazy to me. DH always gets bottomless bubbles but I'm usually ok without until day 3. I like to drink the little tiny cans too. It would be nice to have a few in the room just in case.

I bring a soft side Yeti cooler as a carry-on on every cruise. We drive to Galveston, so I put the cans in there with no problem.

We order water to be delivered and then ask our cabin steward to keep it full.

I brought along a soft-sided cooler that fit 16 cans (there were 2 of us) AND had a removable hard liner. After going through the scanner, they did open it up to make sure that my cans were soda, rather than beer. The hard liner was perfect to use as an ice bucket in our room since it didn't leak. We asked our cabin steward to replenish it with ice daily, which she did, and it was perfect to keep our sodas cold since we didn't have a fridge in our cabin. Probably one of the most useful items I brought along with us on our cruise!
