How would you rate Triumph?

We are sailing on her in 2 days. We've mainly been on older, smaller ships so I don't think the older part will bother us. Never experienced a lot of the things this ship has to offer (Guy's, Blue Iguana, Alchemy, Dive-in Movies, etc.). This is our first time cruising without the kids. We will have a great time no matter what ship we are on for sure!

On a scale of 1-10......an easy 8! The ship is very comfortable and easy to figure out. The only reason I didn't score it higher is the outdoor seating areas. We aren't "sun" people but we still love to be outside. On the outside covered area (deck 3) there weren't many chairs. We like normal chairs, not lounge chairs, and had a hard time getting them. Have fun!!!

I'm a little sad there is no serenity area but I'll be ok on my balcony if we can't find seating!

Its been several years since we sailed on the Triumph but I would sail on her again tomorrow if I had the chance! Before sailing on her, we had only been on the Fantasy so this ship seemed huge to us and now that they've added the 2.0 upgrades, I think you will thoroughly enjoy your time...especially with no kids! :D

We sailed on the Triumph last August and loved it. The ship was very easy to get around in, and great. It did get very hot in our room, especially the last night, but that was our only complaint.

That was our first cruise, so we had nothing to compare it to, but we were very happy with it. We have now cruised on the Liberty and I think the Triumph was easier to navigate.

Just got off her recently. She's been through upgrades and does not look like an old ship at all. Very nicely done a huge step up from Fantasy class if that's what you are use to sailing. The breakfast burritos at blue iguana are amazing, get hashbrowns in them. Easily one of the best foods I had all week and typically I can't stand breakfast burritos.

We all loved the dive in movies but take along a jacket it super cold up on deck at night right now or at least it was for our sailing at night. I had 2 blankets on the last night and it was still too cold to stay out past the first movie with the cold wind blowing so hard. Next time I will pack a heavy hoodie when we sail this time of year.

In general I think the ship is set up well, they do have very narrow spots going to the buffet area that tend to bottleneck around the busy times, that was bad designing on their part. Not a big deal you just have to stop and wait for people to pass through before you can when there are long lines there for the deli because there isn't enough room. It doesn't last long though before it clears out.

We did notice musty/moldy smells around the ship a lot that we never noticed on other ones and by mid week I had a pretty bad head/chest congestion thing going on which may or may not have been related, it cleared up shortly after returning home.

Out of 10 I'd probably give the ship a 6.5, but the fact it ports out of NO and I love porting out of NO because it's so darn easy and efficient I'll bump that up to a 7.5. Overall the food was average and not as good as on other ships, some was down right bad. But there were things we loved like the movies, the décor was nice, staff was great, rooms were nice, Jess the CD is great and I typically don't even notice who the CD is but she was so cute and funny and interacted with everyone, she actually did make the cruise more fun. For us the good out weighed the bad and no ship is perfect. We'll definitely sail Triumph again, probably next summer some time. I'll just pack some sinus meds just in case.

I just got off the Triumph, and I would rate the ship at probably a 6.

A few notable things I noticed (not in any order):

1) Lido deck not very well laid out for traffic flow into the buffet areas

2) Lido deck does not have many good chairs for viewing the big screen movies

3) Several broken floor tiles all over the ship (and by broken I mean you could probably pick them up they were that loose when walking on them).

4) Lots of burnt out light bulbs (our lights on our mirror only had 1 working out of 4.

5) Lots of missing screws on lamps, doors, locks, etc.

5a) Our balcony door would never latch shut, and was missing a screw on the handle (making it very loose).

5b) The balcony dividers was barely closed (one latch worked, the other didn't).

5c) A coat hanger on the wall was only hanging on by one screw (missing 2)

5d) Closet doors wouldn't always stay shut (they used velcro to help keep them closed, but it was wore out).

6) During a rain, the atrium elevators leaked (and not just a little, but quite a bit, enough they shut 2 of the 4 down. Also in the back of the ship on the lido deck it started leaking inside (where there was a solid metal roof above us).

Now those are just some of the cosmetic things I've noticed. It was still a good cruise (I mean come on, I was on a CRUISE!!)

The staff was mostly good, with the exception of my room steward. I would rate him at about a 3. He did clean the room (most of the time). I had to track him down on the last day to get our debarkation tags :( I also found our 1st day set of papers, funtimes, pen, pad of paper hidden in the closet with some bedding sheets on the last day when we were packing (not sure what's up with that. I can only assume he was bringing in the papers with some sheets and put the sheets in the closet with the funtimes, etc.) He also wasn't done cleaning the rooms at 1:30 when they opened the doors for everyone to go to their room. And he did come to the room on the first day and asked if we wanted morning or evening service. I said both, and he said, "Oh, Ok." Most days I only received night time service ( a few times he did do both, but we were in the room quite a bit during the morning hours, but he had a chance to clean it every morning (we would put out the "cruising" sign when leaving in the morning.

Now with all that said, If I had to choose between one of the fantasy class ships, and the Triumph. I would choose the Triumph (because of the 2.0 upgrades, and the movie screen). However I would choose the Dream over the Triumph.

We thought the Triumph was very nice. Our main complaint was the smoking. Many events were held in the Casino which was very smokey and the night club was also very smokey.

Great ship for smokers!

Agree , for that reason and her past history I give her a 3.
