For those that have done B2B cruises?

I am curious about a couple of things. We're considering doing B2B in 2018. It has always been a dream of ours since our honeymoon back in 1989.

1. Do you prefer to do B2B on a particular ship or do you like to do two separate ships?

2. Do you have a cabin preference for such a long cruise?

3. How many total days do you cruise and do you run out of things to do?

I just did a B2B2B on the Pride for a total of 21 days. I loved it! We always book a balcony cabin. I personally don't run out of things to do. If you miss something one week, it's nice knowing you can do it the next week.

It's great staying on the same ship and same cabin. I have done side to sides on different ships, but the turn around day is not fun.

The crew gets to know you and it's fun getting to know them better.

I say go for it!

B2B's are less expensive due to just one RT drive or flight. Consecutive sailings on the same ship are called B2B. Changing ships is usually called S2S (side to side).

I love balconies for B2B, they give some more space to the cruisers. I have done a 21 day B2B Journeys cruises (10 and 11) and was alwayd finding something or nothing to do. I also did a B2B that due to weather, did the same itinerary both weeks.

As I age, I look for the longer cruises since it removes some travel stress getting to and from the cruise ships.

We have done B2B where we stayed on the same ship in the same room, the same ship in a different room, and on 2 different ships (some people refer to these as a side by side). The one we like the best is a B2B on the same ship in the same room that has 2 different itineraries. We are currently booked on a Vista B2B that does the Western Caribbean and then the Southern Caribbean. We could have added a third leg which is the Eastern Caribbean, but since we are doing the full canal transit our budget was tapped out. You get special instructions the last night on where to meet to be escorted off the ship, through customs, and back on the ship. On one 21 day B2B, there were so many B2B cruisers that immigration came on the ship to process us. You get to spend time on the ship when there are fewer people on it. Since we are from the Upper Midwest, we have travel expenses to get there so for us it makes sense to cruise for at least 14 days at a time.

We book a lot of B2B. Last year we did a S2B2B2S, for a total of 28 days. We leave on the 26th of this month for a B2B for a total of 21 days and have 2 more B2B's booked, 21 days each. This next cruise we have to change rooms (just next door), but we usually stay in the same room if we stay on the same ship. Once you've done it it's hard to go back. We don't run out of things to do, as mostly we just relax and read. We usually do balconies, but this next cruise we have french door, 4k...the two future B2B's we have aft balconies. 28 days was great but I was ready to come home and see my grandkid!

We always stay in the same room for a b2b cruise on the same ship. The last thing I want to do is pack all of my stuff half way through! I'd prefer a balcony but so far we have only had an interior room for b2b due to the cost. I'd rather spend the extra money on an additional week of cruising than only have one week in a balcony :)

We do b2b on the same ship and same cabin. In March, our b2b will be a 14 day cruise. Our favorite destination is the ship.

We have done one b2b on the Breeze and loved it! We booked a spa room for both legs and it was great to have access to the wonderful spa on the Breeze. I personally enjoyed the amenities of a larger ship because we had a variety of restaurants and activities. For our upcoming b2b, we booked a Havana room on the Vista.

I think 2 weeks is plenty. By then I'm ready to go home. I like the routine I have set at home and a couple weeks is long enough to take a break from that.

The bad thing is that all of the shows and movies are exactly the same, and the comedians at the end of the first trip were also on the beginning of the second trip. The good thing is this gave us more time to just relax, since we didn't feel we had to rush to do everything in one week.

We have done a few back to backs, mainly because on a good day, airfare from where we live to Florida costs us $ 1800 for the TWO of us and we love the Caribbean. We've once done a B2B where we had to switch cabins and honestly, if you can get the same cabin for both cruises, it's SO much nicer. (otherwise you have to pack your stuff up and coordinate with a steward the moving of your luggage - not tough to do, just nice not to have to). If you're big on going to shows, you will likely see the same ones but there is so much to do on the ship, I doubt you will be bored. I think rather, you'll be all the much more rested after those extra days on the briny ! Enjoy!

Agreed, We did a 21 day B2B on the Dream. We thought it might be too long, but after the first 11 days, we were ready to go another 10. We had a Cloud 9 balcony on deck 12 and absolutely loved it. The deck was so quiet, don't think there were any kids around. When you step out of the glass door elevators, you smell eucalyptus walking to your cabin. We booked similar deck 12 spa balcony for our upcoming B2B on the Magic. If you can afford it, get a balcony, you'll love it.
