Rare Clearwater Posted November 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2016 Any suggestions on what to do when it's raining? We are sailing with an upcoming 80% Chance of rain and I think possible tropical issues. Not sure if we will make it but haven't heard otherwise yet. vividharp Posted November 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2016 Don't plan your entire day around rain. It doesn't last long unless there is a tropical system moving in and it's too late in the season for that! Rare Clearwater Posted November 15, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted November 15, 2016 It's not too late in the season because, as I stated, there is a Tropical Storm forming this weekend which is when we sail. So that is why I am curious what to do if we end up there. It could be a very soggy cruise because there is a big system forming - not good timing. Capt_BJ Posted November 16, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2016 (edited) if you are talking about the possible disturbance mentioned on the National Hurricane Center today, that is more than 600 miles from Puerto Plata ..... or about the same distance as PP to MIAMI MAYBE some concern in JA or Cayman .... but with PP, not only the distance plays in, but PP has the entire island between there and the possible storm ... http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo.php?basin=atlc&fdays=5 Edited November 16, 2016 by Capt_BJ
