Kenai Fjords cruise- then train to Anchorage

On Regent cruise June 2017. Off ship in morning in Seward. What is the best Kenai Fjords day cruise to take, and still be able to make train to Anchorage that evening? What do we do with our luggage, once off the original cruise ship?

We will then spend what's left of the night in Anchorage- then rent car to Denali next morning. Do we need to make our Fjord cruise and train reservations now? We already have hotel and car reservations.

Thanks,

Kathy

I would look to see if the Kenai Fjiords cruise has set it's 2018 schedule. The same for the train. Many tour operates don't set there schedules until Feb or March. If the site has a toll free number give then a call.

Same applies to the train . Their summer schedule might not be out yet.

You may want to consider just renting the car in Seward. We did this on our first trip to Alaska and found it to be an easy and pretty drive. Plus it solves your juggage storage issue. It may cost a little extra for the dropoff in Anchorage, but you save in other ways.

Can't remember the name of the company we used for the Kenai Fjords cruise, but it was one of the best things we did. It included a stop for a salmon lunch at their lodge along the way.

If you're taking the train, you can check your luggage at the depot. I think you can do so around 9am, but look at the Railrosd website under FAQ's or call/email them.

If you're taking the earlier Kenai cruise, the vendor will hold your luggage.

The seward and whittier train schedules synch up with the boat tours. You'll be fine.

The depot and harbor are VERY close.
