Staying aboard when ship goes to CoCo Cay?

We will be on the Enchantment of the Seas next August and were thinking of staying on the ship instead of tendering to the private island. Are the pools and or the hot tubs open or do they close them up. I assume the dining room is open but what else is available to do on board?

Pools and hot tubs are open.

Almost everything was open onboard when we were stopped at CocoCay and Nassau. The bungee trampoline and rock wall had limited hours, but it's still a relaxing time on the ship.

We got bored if CocoCay after a few hours so we got back on the ship and it was nice and empty. I'd suggest it if you either don't need to go to the beach or are going to one in Nassau.

Everything will be open like it was a day at sea. The only things that will not be open are the shops and casinos. But as for the pools and hottubs, they will not only be open, but very uncrowded. It will most likely be just as relaxing as a day on CocoCay would be, except you'll have better food and access to air conditioning, plus your stateroom, and no hassle carrying stuff to the beach! :D

We are planning several days in South beach post cruise so we can get to the beach if we want then. Having been to the other ports we are looking forward to the stop at Key West mostly.

Thanks to all the responders.

The dining room is generally closed for lunch when the ships are in port.

We stay on board a lot when the ship stops at places we've been. It's really nice and enjoyable.

Just to clarify for the OP, as that would be the case with any port of call, it would be no different with Coco Cay just because it is one of their private destinations. And the Windjammer will always be open - as would other dining venues.

The casino is usually open too. It opens up around noon. At least it does for Labadee. I think it opened up when we were at CoCo Cay too.

But, I think only the Windjammer is open for lunch, not the MDR. A lot of the dining crew is usually on the island for the buffet.

Maybe it depends on the ship. I am only talking about the Grandeur and Explorer. Explore is no longer doing cruises here on the east coast though.

P.S. Coco Cay is very nice and very spread out. You will have quite a pleasant day there should you choose to go over.

Agreed.

And op remember that sometimes Coco isn't possible to tender to. So your quiet and alone day might turn into a surprise sea day. If getting loungers in the sun (or shade!) is important, be awake and aware of whether or not they were able to have the coco day so you can get a lounger.
