Shows on Carnival Magic

We are booked on the Magic on 3-25-17. Wondering what the theater shows will be like. We were on the Dream in Nov '15 and really enjoyed the shows(there was an 80's night, Motown, etc). How often do they change up the themes and do all the ships do the same shows or what? I see a lot of people criticizing Carnivals entertainment but we really enjoyed it and went to the show just about every night. Much better than the RC cruise we went on a few years ago, IMO.

Shows have changed from production shows to what they call playlist productions.

 

Shorter show with smaller cast.

 

Few weeks ago they had a show called 88 keys about piano playing which was good. They introduced a second one call Flicks kind of a strange show about movies but awesome special effects.

 

Two more are to be introduced in near future.

 

IMHO the older production shows were better.

We love the Playlist shows, the old shows were boring and poorly produced. Playlist has better variety, also.

 

We have seen 80s Pop, Getaway Island, 88 Keys, Heart and Soul, Motor City, Epic Rock, The Brits, Latin Nights. Looking forward to some of the new ones but would watch any of them over again (saw Epic Rock twice on one cruise, loved it that much! Ditto Motor City.) Only one we really didn't like was The Brits - we were expecting more Stones and Beatles, less Herman's Hermits. Just our taste.

The shows on the Liberty are NOT Playlist, and they are terrible.

Just my opinion.
