sbell1 Posted November 7, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2005 I just found out on our Nov. 19th cruise The Navigator will be docking at the Pan American Pier. How hard is it to get a taxi to El Morro and then back to the pier? How much should this cost? It would be much simpler for passengers if it docked at the Old San Juan pier! Didn't it used to do this? Thanks
texancruzer Posted November 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2005 From what I have heard - RCI owns the Pan Am pier therefore uses it whenever it can. Usually when cruise begins and ends in San Juan it will use the Pan Am Pier but if San Juan is only a port STOP then they try to us the downtown piers (yes it is easier for pax) Have also heard exceptions to this rule though too. Taxi from pier to OSJ (where El Morro is) about $6.00 Taxis will be at the pier !!! We will be there the week after you - have fun.
Schplinky Posted November 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2005 When we cruised Navigator through SJ, it stopped in Old San Juan, not at P_A pier. You simply walked off the ship and were in the thick of things.
skiiergirl Posted November 8, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2005 Last year when we were there on Jewel, we docked in OSJ but Navigator went over to Pan Am. (We were there the same day.)

Kaye from Chicagoland Posted November 12, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 12, 2005 Hi! Try using the cruise calendar to see where your ship will be docked: http://www.gotopuertorico.com/Calendar/calendar.asp?id=89200&date=6-5-2005 I've found it to be accurate, Kaye

Kaye from Chicagoland Posted November 12, 2005 #8 Share Posted November 12, 2005 Glad the calendar helped you. Anyway, if it doesn't say Pan American pier or Navy Frontier - it is the docks in OSJ which are generaly docks #2, #3, and #4. Ours says dock #4 - E and I know that is right across the street from OSJ. Kaye
merry Posted November 14, 2005 #9 Share Posted November 14, 2005 Is the Navy Frontier pier at the same location as Pan American pier? Also what is the cost of a taxi from airport to the Navy pier? TIA Merry
Kaye from Chicagoland Posted November 15, 2005 #10 Share Posted November 15, 2005 Hi Merry, No, the piers are not the same. Check out the link below to see where the piers are located as well as some of the major hotels. http://www.langland.org/cruises/sanjuan.asp It also gives other good infomation as some of the taxi rates for you to get an idea of costs.
