For those members who question why stay on the ship in Nassau?

You mean if your ship is registered there, it must go there every so often? I wasn't aware of that rule. It certainly explains why the cruise lines subject us to that dump of a place. The satire video was actually kind!

No not at all.

 

But consideration has to be taken when negotiating for your ships registry, fees for registry and the desire to lease a Bahamian island.

 

I'm sure both parties negotiated very hard to achieve what they wanted out of the agreement.

The fact the the Magical Cruise Company is based from the UK could also play a part in the choice of registry for tax reasons.

 

Other lines may port there just because it is a nearby port to call to. There are few others to chose from when picking a "distant port" to satisfy the PVSA rules on short cruises.
