Jetlagged787 Posted January 11, 2017 #26 Share Posted January 11, 2017 Yes, I'd love to hear your thoughts and advice after your trip in May! The only time I traveled overseas to London I didn't have much in the way of jetlag. It hit me much worse on the trip back, so I'm thinking of taking an extra day of vacation once I'm back home in order to recover. No problem. I'll gather up any menus, price lists, dailies, etc. that I can and post them back on the boards.
Jetlagged787 Posted January 11, 2017 #27 Share Posted January 11, 2017 This is exactly what we'd like to do. Now I just have to plan for exactly how much available vacation time I'll have, not to mention the imposing budget of it all. I truly can't wait though; we've already started learning (very) basic Italian. A very good language learning tool is duolingo dot com which is free. Jetlagged787 Posted January 11, 2017 #28 Share Posted January 11, 2017 In my research I recalled a very helpful website that has extensive information about cruise ports. There are great PDF files to download and print out or save. Go to Toms port guides .com (All one word). I am finding so much information there I thought it would be helpful to you as well. ~Joyce Thank you so much Joyce. That looks brilliant. :)

We've tried doing some every day, and it's actually a lot of fun. Not sure how much I'll retain by the time we go, but who knows.

Not sure how much I'll retain by the time we go, but who knows. You will remember some and the locals will appreciate you making the effort. At times I have lived in Germany, Spain and now Portugal and have always been received well just for making the effort. The only problem I have ever encountered is that the locals also like to practice their knowledge of English, rather defeating your efforts!
