Difference between Platinum & FTTF priority boarding...

We're looking forward to Platinum priority boarding again.

Our friends in another cabin doesn't, but wondering about FTTF & if it's worth it.

We're carpooling & arriving at port at same time, so wondering with our Plat & their FTTF, would we all get onboard the ship together at same time?

Also, if we're assigned 11am boarding time, with Platinum priority boarding, do we still need to stick to that time frame, or can arrive at any time?

Thanks,

If they do purchase FTTF, they will board right after Platinum/Diamond and weddings. Only they can answer if it's worth it or not. If one of your ports is a tender port, FTTF will give them priority boarding on the tenders, dedicated line at Guest Services, and luggage will arrive sooner.

With Platinum priority boarding, you can check in at any time. You won't board until the ship is cleared.

Both Platinum and FTTF can check in at their leisure. However, your friends won't be able to go to the same place to get their S&S cards. You will go to the VIP lounge, they will go to the FTTF line. Even to get in through security will be different lines.

Thanks for all the info.

Guess they'll pass up FTTF & hurry up to do a few more cruises to get to Platinum...

Or you could wait and sit/board with them in the FTTF group. As someone else pointed out, you can board at any time as a Platinum, except in front of the Diamonds :)

They further break down between Platinum & Diamond priority boardings...?

They didn't in Miami. They just had the people in the Captain's Lounge board (which consisted of Diamonds, Platinums, and Suites) and then called FTTF. At least that's the way I remember it from October.

The lady opened the doors on the forward wall for us to go through then we went through another room where I think it said Wedding Parties or something, then up the escalator where everyone else was and then you could go either right or left and then up another escalator to where they take your picture.

Couple of clarification points. If all of you have selected 11 am check in time, you will all be allowed to enter the terminal at 11am. The 11 am is not boarding time. Boarding usually begins later. Once boarding begins, groups who are checked in will board in the stated order. Plats can drop back and board with any zone. As a Plat, you can also check in at your leisure. Your friends must check in at their selected time or later, not before.

You are correct if they have no FTTF. But with FTTF, they can check-in before their selected time, then wait for the stated order in boarding.

If they have FTTF, they can check in as early as the first boarding time (which for example on Vista is 11AM). They do not need to follow what is printed on their boarding pass. If they elect not to get FTTF, then yes they will not be allowed in before. But again, depending on the ship, it's very possible that 11AM is the early slot so it wouldn't matter.

I wasn't sure if they had FTTF or were going to get it, probably too late for FTTF anyways.

2 more cruises and I'll finally be Platinum....looking forward to the extra perks...both cruises booked for this year :D

I never even noticed a Priority line or a VIP lounge for Platinum/Diamond...I never had to look for it either....will make a note to myself to look for it on my next cruise with CCL in June.

We've read that FTTF gets onboard in 5 - 10 mins, after boarding begins.

Last year in Miami, we were the 6th & 7th Platinum to check-in. Then we went to Captain's Lounge till it was time to board the ship.

When an employee came into the lounge to lead us out, a whole slew of FTTF joined the line as we were walking by so there were many, many more who boarded before they were supposed to.

No one is checking to see if you're Plat/Diamond or FTTF.
