As [looking back at my photographs] did the majority of gentlemen in the restaurant [QG] when the advised code said nothing about 'optional', just

'Casual

No jacket required'

 

although the board was revised later in the afternoon to

'Casual

No jacket required [no shorts or jeans]' [which as an aside would indicate shorts are permitted on a normal 'casual' code :)]

 

The heavens didn't fall, no-one fainted at the sight of quite a few well dressed and jacketless chaps and Cunard life continued.

Maybe so, but as stated, the Majority of gentlemen wore jackets, the remainder couldn't be bothered.

Many passengers had shirts only in MDR on the last night of the mini cruise, some did have them hanging on their chairs, :eek:

I don't think that they couldn't be bothered, it's not much of a bother to slip on a jacket, more that they welcomed a rare chance to be really comfortable while dining.

Last night on the 2nd night of The world Cruise , many passengers had jackets over chairs in the MDR for dinner :eek:
