Safe?

We're cruising to Freeport and Nassau in August. I've recently read how unsafe the island is. We we're thinking of doing Atlantis and buying a day pass for resort in Freeport. Are these areas safe? We'll be traveling with our three kids.

Been to Nassau 3 times with kids, did Atlantis, never felt unsafe.

Just got back from both islands and I'm a single mom with 2 kids and I never felt unsafe. In Freeport we walked around till we found the taxis and took one to a beach. Nassau we just walked from port to the straw market and then a little further down to the beach. Seen a lot of police along the way!

I can't speak to Freeport (we've never been), but we felt totally safe in Nassau. Especially in Atlantis. There's security all over the resort and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
