Martini Queenie Posted January 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2017 I'm hoping recent cruisers can help with this. Are the prices of the shore excursions more expensive on the boat versus ordering online prior to the cruise? I believe I know the answer but if the prices are higher on the ship does anyone know by what amount/percentage? We are trying to determine if there are any excursions we want to do on our cruise next month but can't decide. Thanks
Bo1953 Posted January 11, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2017 I have yet to find excursions costing more on-board than pre-purchase. The only challenge you may have, if at all, is a sell out of a popular excursion. bon voyage
pacurnl Posted January 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2017 You are correct, sometimes the prices are higher if you book on board. We were on the Silly, and several excursions were more expensive. We were in Europe, and the excursions were very expensive to begin with. The difference once on board was about $20 more per excursion. We had OBC so we wanted to use that for our excursions, and just paid the higher price. There was one excursion that we did book early and just paid for it before hand. You do run the risk of not being able to book it once on board, so I would do it on embarkation day to lessen the risk of it being sold out. Have a great trip!
