Pre Purchasing OBC with Celeberity Soltice

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am wondering if any lovely cruiser out there can tell me if I pre purchase OBC through Celebrity will the credit be allocated to me or will it go onto the room as a whole or the person who booked the cruise. There are 4 of us travelling.

I emailed Celebrity yesterday...via their link to RCC Aust asking them but as of yet not heard anything back.

I have done what I consider a reasonable search on here but could not find an answer, so I apologise in advance if this seems like a simple question and the answer should be readily found.

Thanks in advance for your responses. :)

Cheers

Welcome to cruise critic.

Okay, the OBC gifted will go to the person you allocate it to when purchasing. However, if there is one account for the cabin then everyone will have access to it.

You will need to set up four individual sea pass accounts for on board.

We purchased through the Celebrity website and it asked who the credit was for...my husband, myself or both. I'm assuming it will show the same for you.

Correct, but the cabin will still need separate accounts set up or either party can spend it.

Thanks everyone, I think I will call Celebrity direct, still no reply to email I sent them.

We do all have separate accounts. The cost of each OBC unit is $32.50 AUD presumably from what I can see on some of the forums here, that should be what it transfers to in US dollars on board as well? not sure how that works unless the AUD dollars amount already account for the exchange?

I emailed my travel agent too and she has said i can transfer money to them and they can add the OBC for me. :)

For AU $32.50 you get US $25 OBC, that's an exchange rate of .77 which is a bit better than today's .75.

If you all have separate onboard accounts then it should be simple - just make sure it goes to your account, and it's probably easier (safer?) to do that online.

I would do it on line, it should be allocated to only you if you pick yourself as the recipient and you have separate accounts. As mentioned each unit is $25 USD for a cost of $32.50 AUD.:D

Oh I'm happy then :)

I'm going on my first Celebrity cruise in April on the Solstice.

Had the Classic drink package included in the price, booked an ocean view.

The travel agent offered us $300 American OBC for can extra cost of $90 pp Twin cabin

So it looks like that was a good deal.

I'm just not sure if I will need to have more money available on board and what is the best way to do it.

I'm going to Nouméa and Lifou, been there heaps of times so won't spend on shore tours. And most drinks I enjoy would be included.

Not a shopping type person so I'm wondering if this obc will be enough.

If that $300 is per person and you already have a drinks package and won't buy shore excursions or anything on board, I am sure it is more than enough.

I worked out without alcohol and sodas I spent only $170. $100 was a gift for xmas for my parents for speciality dining. $30 was for a GoPro accessory. $30 was a gift for a friend. And $30 was a shore excursion. It would have been $200 but I won back my $30 I spent on duty free alcohol.

That depends on if your gratuities are paid as well. These are around $13.50 per person per day. And also if you are a Casino or specialty restaurant type person.

Yep if anything we will spend it in casino or the restaurants was thinking I could put it on casino card then cash it out but it can't be done on this ship.

Were opting to remove gratuities once on board as we haven't paid them yet.

I would think the $300 would be enough then. Remember that you can cash out any winnings (from the OBC) in the casino.:D
